Assistant Technical Manager

Join our team as an Assistant Technical Manager, where you will have the primary responsibility for addressing and managing technical issues and developments within our factory environment. This role is crucial for ensuring our operations align with industry standards and customer expectations.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Support the factory with any technical issues and queries.
  • Monitor, test, and report on all factory trials, including customer trials, supplier-led developments, or process improvements, ensuring documentation aligns with our Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Maintain and update data sheets, Statements of Compliance (SoC's), and customer specifications using supplier information and regular migration testing.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with Food Contact regulations across all business areas.
  • Support the Operations Manager with quality-related investigations and incidents.
  • Aid the Compliance Officer in managing and adhering to the BRC standard.
  • Utilise and maintain laboratory equipment to analyse competitor materials and update internal technical specifications.
  • Regularly meet with existing and new suppliers to stay informed of any new developments that could benefit our customers or our processes.
  • Due to the current size of the organisation, flexibility in duties and additional tasks may be required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in a technical role within a factory or production environment.
  • Familiarity with BRC standards and other relevant food safety and quality regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with laboratory equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks efficiently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with suppliers and team members.
  • Must have the right to work in the UK.
