In collaboration with Adecco, Bentley Motors, one of the most esteemed names in the motor industry, is seeking a Buyer. This role is pivotal in ensuring the procurement of high-quality, cost-effective parts and materials to meet production schedules and business objectives. The aim is to implement a robust commodity strategy, manage key spend categories, and drive supplier performance improvements.

The Buyer will provide both commercial and strategic expertise to drive informed procurement decisions. This includes utilising supplier management techniques, cost negotiation, and process compliance. Leveraging their own business experience and knowledge, the successful candidate will identify and deliver further procurement efficiencies and cost reduction opportunities.

Key Role and Responsibilities

  • Delivering high-quality, cost-effective parts to our factory on schedule.
  • Implementing a commodity strategy to select optimal suppliers for Bentley Motors.
  • Managing key spend categories across our 5 commodity teams: Metals, Exterior, Interior, Connectivity, Powertrain, and Aftermarket.
  • Promoting commercial discipline through collaborative cross-functional teamwork.
  • Achieving key performance metrics, including negotiating costs and driving supplier performance improvements.
  • Ensuring procurement process compliance and recommending process enhancements for greater efficiency.
  • Contributing to future-focused projects in Sustainability, Innovation, and Software.
  • Collaborating with the wider Group (Audi, Porsche, Lamborghini) to boost operational efficiencies and develop innovative, exciting products.
  • Handling back orders and liaising with other departments to ensure timely delivery of parts.
  • Preparing presentations for the sourcing committee to ensure due diligence and value for money.
  • Raising orders and checking supply routes for parts, ensuring availability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Working closely with suppliers to manage supply chains and resolve any issues.
  • Participating in forums and meetings to discuss procurement strategies and improvements.

  • Familiarity with Excel, SAP, and other mainstream purchasing platforms.
  • Comfortable with speaking on the phone and writing emails.
  • Preference for candidates with experience in metals procurement and interior components, but open to other industries such as automotive and transportation.
