The CompanyNigel Wright Group are delighted to be partnering exclusively with a highly successful design-led manufacturing business in the Cheshire area to recruit a Strategic Buyer to support their next phase of growth and expansion.  The Client will support a condensed 4 day working week!The OpportunityWorking within a newly formed team the Strategic Buyer will have specific raw materials' commodity and project procurement responsibilities:
  • Commodity and project budget management responsibility
  • Focused on PPV, supplier consolidation and contract management
  • Liaising with/building relationships with longstanding suppliers – performance management
  • New sourcing
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders regards key NPI activity
  • Mentoring junior buyers
About YouThe ideal Strategic Buyer will have/be:
  • Raw materials’ procurement experience gained from within Engineering/Project based manufacturing/Automotive sectors 
  • Commodity management background beneficial
  • Strengths in negotiation, contract and  supplier relationship management
  • Commercially minded, strategic, ambitious to progress – personality and potential to grow
  • Tenacious, assertive and confident communicator with real ‘get up and go’ – able to build relationships with ease
  • Experience of supporting NPI projects beneficial
