Senior SEND Learning SupportCrewe£28,000 plus £3,750 car allowanceFull time (37 hours per week)Reed FE are looking to recruit a Senior SEND Learning Support Assistant who will join a training provider’s SEND team. We are looking for someone who has experience of working with young people and/or adults with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).Responsibilities

  • Take the lead for ensuring high quality learning support is planned and provided which enables learners across all provision types / and age ranges with a EHCP to overcome barriers to learning, make rapid progress and achieve their full potential.
  • To support the development and implementation of the organisation’s SEND strategy and related policies.
  • Oversee the EHCPcaseload of learners, working with the learners, Delivery Managers and Learning Coaches, parents (learners under 18 with an EHCP) and other agencies to ensure effective and personalised plans are in place meeting legislative requirements, funding guidance and the Education Inspection Framework.
  • Provide support, direction, advice and guidance to Delivery Managers and Tutors to ensure the successful implementation of a range of support strategies and interventions which aid learners with SEND to make rapid progress and achieve within planned timescales.
  • To take on the role of Deputy Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) to cover safeguarding in the absence of the safeguarding lead (DSL).

Requirements

  • Experience of working with and supporting learners with EHCP
  • Hold a SEND qualification at Level 5 or above (or willing to work towards).
  • Experience of working with internal & external agencies to identify, plan, deliver and evaluate EHCP provision.
  • Sound knowledge of Safeguarding, GDPR and information sharing.
  • Understanding of the legislation, local and national guidance in relation to SEND and LDD.
  • Level 2 in maths and English or equivalent or willing work towards.
  • Relevant experience of carrying out administrative duties
