Test Engineer

Crewe (Onsite working)

1 year rolling contract

Main Goals & Objectives

Deliver Engineering systems and components to meet the requirements of the Project Description Brochure. Responsible for the specification, system integration, test and validation to achieve the quality targets for the project. Achieve engineering signoff for systems and components in area of connected car.

Skills & Experience


Good understanding of the software development lifecycle, ideally along with agile principles.

Understanding of VW, Audi & Porsche ECUs vehicle platforms.

Experience with Vehicle Logs Analysis like DLT logs, Ethernet/CAN logs.

Experience in System Testing & Integration, Manual Testing, reporting and error management.

Experience with VW tools such as ODIS, IDEX, VKMS, CP Tool, ADB, Ethernet, MQTT.

Hands-on experience in the automotive domain such as, CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet, Diagnostics, Coding, etc.

Main Responsiblites


1. Support and Manage Test Property

Responsibility for continuous construction and maintenance for a set of test rigs, test vehicles in Telematics, Connectivity, Infotainment & Diagnostic domain. Advanced ability to capture and specify the system integration and test requirements. Support the test & validation planning to sign off the systems and components in area of connected car. Responsible for flashing, coding and debugging analysis and problem solving on test benches and vehicles.


2. Delivery of projects

Responsible for planning and managing project related activities on a Weekly Basis. Reporting of project status for area of responsibility in functional area. Intermediate understanding of cross functional working with other areas of the business. Active participation working with suppliers for progressing project deliverables.


3. Problem Solving

Ability to solve complex System Test and System Integration related problems, with company tools. Analysis and management of several integration and testing related issues to identify the root cause.

Collect, manage and analyse logs to find the root cause and deliver solution to solve the problem. Deliver presentations at appropriate level.


4. Developing and maintaining Specialist knowledge

Requirement analysis and development of test approach. Deep analysis or issues captured during your tests or reported by team and developers. Test automation (Python, Robot Framework, Anna Framework). Maintain and document test environments configuration and specification (e.g. test bench and car).


5. Ability to work within a team

Able to work effectively in the functional team. Support of own contribution in delivering team objectives.
