Finance Assistant

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled Finance Assistant to join the team in Crewkerne. We are looking for a diligent individual who has experience in finance and is eager to contribute to our company's success.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage the sales and purchase ledger, including raising sales orders and invoices, recording payments, and processing supplier invoices

- Monitor and control the ordering of supplies, ensuring that we have sufficient stock levels to meet production demands

- Conduct credit control activities, maintaining a healthy cash flow by chasing payments and resolving any queries or issues

- Assist with month end reconciliations and preparation of financial reports

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, ensuring that all financial information is entered correctly into our systems

- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accuracy and consistency of financial data

- Contribute to the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures

Requirements:

- Proven experience as a Finance Assistant or similar role, preferably in a production-based company.

- Strong understanding of sales and purchase ledger functions.

- Excellent numeracy and analytical skills, with the ability to spot errors and resolve discrepancies.

- Proficiency in using accounting software, such as Sage50 and Xero.

- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

- A relevant accounting or finance qualification is desirable.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships

- A high level of attention to detail and accuracy

- Ability to work well in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

- Knowledge of month-end processes and reconciliations
