An outstanding opportunity has become available for a highly experienced and discreet Live-in Housekeeper/Cook to join a warm and welcoming family at their beautiful 8-bedroom stately home near Crewkerne, Somerset. While the residence is grand and historic, the household is informal and friendly—perfect for a professional who appreciates elegant settings but thrives in a down-to-earth, easy-going environment.

This is a full-time, live-in position suited to someone who can maintain exacting standards, work independently, and take pride in keeping a heritage property running smoothly.

The Role

• Location: Near Crewkerne, Somerset

• Schedule: Full-time, 6 days per week

• Start Date: Flexible

• Salary: £40,000+ gross per annum (dependent on experience)

• Accommodation: Private, self-contained accommodation provided on the estate

Key Responsibilities

• Complete housekeeping of an 8-bedroom stately home

• Specialist care of antiques and heritage furnishings

• Daily and deep cleaning, laundry, and wardrobe care

• Cooking fresh, simple meals for 2–4 people when family is in residence

• Managing household provisions and grocery shopping

• Coordinating with external contractors

• Ensuring the property remains immaculate during periods when the family is away (3–5 months per year)

• Occasionally assisting the mother of the family with light household tasks or occasional local driving

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 10 years' experience in UHNW/private households

• Confidence in both housekeeping and home cooking

• Experience working in large, formal homes with heritage interiors

• Professional, discreet, and highly organised

• UK driving licence (essential)

• Excellent references and longevity in previous roles
