Our client, a leading aerospace company, is currently seeking a skilled Fitter to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a day shift role.


The ideal candidate for this role will have completed a recognised apprenticeship or have equivalent experience within the skill group. Significant experience as a mechanical fitter or production aircraft fitter, with a focus on fault finding related to production acceptance testing, would be highly beneficial. Knowledge and experience in fuel systems, mechanics, and structures would also be advantageous. A wide skill base within an MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) base would be useful.



Key Responsibilities: Task Management:

  • Build and perform Production Acceptance Testing (PAT) of Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) according to engineering methods and processes.
  • Support and comply with quality procedures to maintain compliance by following defined processes and procedures.


Autonomy:

  • Identify and drive productivity and performance improvement opportunities in collaboration with the team to support cost reductions.
  • Understand lean manufacturing processes and work with the team to implement them.
  • Contribute to the continuous development of safety, health, and environmental requirements within the work area.


People Management:

  • Actively support and pursue personal development to ensure task flexibility through the use of the Skills matrix.
  • Participate in annual and interim Performance and Development Reviews with the Production Supervisor.


Communication:

  • Escalate issues to the Production Supervisor in a timely manner.
