North Star is recruiting for a small, growing and ambitious two office accountancy practice.

The opportunity is based in the Perth area and is for a qualified accountant with Scottish practice experience and experience of the Scottish SMB landscape to support the Founder (QBE or time barred may be considered if other criteria are met).

This a great, well-rounded opportunity for a finance professional to help manage and grow a great business with good clients. It will involve -

  • Managing, mentoring and coaching a small team (around a dozen). The team are self-starters, experienced and motivated, so it will be a light-touch management style.
  • Some 'on the tools' accounting work as required (hence experience of all aspects of accountancy practice work is essential)
  • planning and scheduling client work
  • client relationship management
  • day-to-day business management
  • recruitment
  • supporting the Founder with tenders and bids as required, and future office openings.

Demonstrable people management / leadership experience is essential. The Founder needs to step away from people management to free up time to grow the business/client base/sectors.

The Founder has a preference for someone to based in the Perth area, with some WFH flexibility although mostly onsite in the early days to understand the business. However, this could work for someone close to their other office in the Rosyth, Dalgety Bay, Dunfermline, Alloa, Kirkcaldy etc areas who can spend time in Perth.
