My Public Sector Client is looking for a Network Coordinator to join them on a Temporary Basis, initially until April.

Job Location: Croft

Pay Rate: £17.80ph (40 Hours Per Week)

Job Purpose: 

My Client has statutory responsibility to manage their highway (network) in an effective manner, to control and reduce congestion and provide a high-level of safe and reliable journeys to the road user.

The Network Coordinator role helps fulfill these responsibilities by coordinating temporary activities on the network, ensuring compliance with regulations, statutory guidance, and codes of practice, and applying penalties when necessary to enforce controls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure services benefit the people of Leicestershire.
  • Foster effective partnerships with statutory, voluntary, private agencies, and communities.
  • Prepare technical reports for Members, partners, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to departmental business planning for performance management.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to manage enquiries, requests, negotiations, and disputes.
  • Monitor regulatory notifications for street works and roadworks in the designated area.
  • Process permit applications and variations to minimize impact.
  • Ensure proper traffic management for relevant works on the network.
  • Oversee Technician in processing licenses, compliance, enforcement, and fee collection.
  • Manage penalties and charges related to prosecutions, coordinating with works promoters.
  • Act as the primary contact for works promoters, ensuring minimal impact on the network.
  • Report issues in the Local Street Gazetteer, Street Works Register, and interfaces to the Network Manager.
  • Ensure suitable traffic management plans for temporary activities.
  • Assign and authorize/reject traffic management applications.
  • Support data collection and analysis for network performance evaluation.
  • Maintain knowledge of utility and highways work terminology and practices.
  • Ensure Health and Safety legislation is followed for works.

Special Factors:

  • Work may be required outside normal hours or at different locations.
  • Attend training, conferences, or meetings as necessary.

In order to apply you MUST possess the following:

  • HNC Civil Engineering / Electrical or evidence of skills and experience below.
  • Experience of working within highways maintenance, civil engineering or street lighting
  • Experience of resolving enquiries in real time and feeding back to customers and other stakeholders
