About the Role

This includes assessing current business practices and developing strategies to improve and meet environmental targets.



Main Responsibilities

  • Monitor the organisation's environmental performance against internal and external compliance targets and manage obligations under a wide range of environmental laws and regulations.
  • Take a lead role in developing, maintaining, and delivering environmental compliance activities.
  • Develop and maintain the company's environmental management system, ensuring it aligns with ISO 14001.
  • Take a lead role in coordinating internal and external audits by developing and monitoring the company's environmental audit schedule.
  • Participate in the development of operational and support staff by delivering workshops and briefings to staff at various levels.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including government agencies and regulatory bodies.
  • Work with the wider team to implement strategies to ensure compliance is prioritised and championed at all levels within the organisation.

Additional Information

You will be based at our site in Forth, Lanark, with a requirement to visit our Lathallan facility in Falkirk.



Essential Skills



What We're Looking For

This Environmental Compliance Manager role would suit an Environment Management professional who has a history of implementing and upholding ISO 14001 standards in a waste management, environment, or regulated industry and who is looking for a role as the go-to expert.

This role requires a blend of technical knowledge, practical experience, and strong interpersonal skills to effectively manage and improve the organisation's management systems.

  • Environmental qualification or similar to degree level, above or equivalent
  • At least 3-5 years of experience working in the environment, regulatory, and/or waste sectors
  • Excellent understanding of Environmental Permitting and Duty of Care regulations
  • Experience of waste classification technical guidance (WM3)
  • Knowledge of environmental risk assessment methods and techniques
  • Knowledge of non-hazardous and hazardous waste management practices and procedures
  • Proficiency in the use of computer software such as Microsoft Office, GIS, and database management systems


Desirable Skills

  • COTC Hazardous Waste treatment
