Are you an experienced Accounts Assistant looking for a new opportunity? Our client, a highly successful business in Crowborough, East Sussex, is seeking a talented individual to join their small Finance team as an Accounts Assistant. This is a permanent, full-time position with a competitive salary of to up £32k, depending on experience and qualifications.

At our client's organisation, they pride themselves on their simple structure, low staff turnover, and clear vision.

As an Accounts Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work closely with the Finance Director, assisting with key processes within the Finance team of 3. You will become the second hand person in the finance team and will have an opportunity to learn and grow with the company. With expansion plans in place this role really could take you anywhere.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Finance Director with the preparation of monthly management accounts and other reporting
  • Conduct bank reconciliations
  • Manage credit control / 500 clients / sending statements / invoice queries
  • Monitor and respond to emails from customers and colleagues
  • Reconcile credit card statements
  • Prepare payment runs
  • Process journals
  • Provide holiday cover for purchase ledger processing
  • Maintain the fixed asset register
  • Assist in financial audit preparations
  • Support the Finance Director with ad hoc tasks

Requirements:

  • AAT qualified / or similar in experince
  • Experience in credit control is essential
  • Double entry bookkeeping
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including v-lookups and pivot tables
  • Friendly, approachable, and excellent communication skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work autonomously
  • Pro-active and keen to adopt best working practises
  • Attention to detail
