Absolute Law Recruitment are supporting a Legal 500 Law Firm in Sussex who are looking to appoint a Commercial Property Paralegal with a minimum of 1 years' PQE into their Team.
The successful candidate will have the option of being based from any of their offices located in Kent, Surrey and Sussex.
You will provide legal support to the firm’s Commercial Property Department and, in particular, to support the Department’s Partners and Solicitors by providing accurate and timely work on client files as delegated by them. In particular, the role requires diligent and accurate processing of SDLT and Land Registry matters and preparation of completion statements, invoices and all pre and post property completion aspects relating to commercial property transactions.
The role requires management of your own case-load and involves direct client engagement and matter-related time targets.
Other key tasks include:
• Taking initial instructions from clients on the telephone and by email
• Preparing risk assessments on cases to allow Partners and Solicitors to make informed decisions on how and if matters should progress
• Opening client files and ensuring accurate capture of key information including key dates, limitations and costs to comply with Anti Money Laundering, LawNet and Panel requirements
• Liaising directly with clients and agents to ensure relationships are managed and they remain updated on matter progress and costs
• Using precedents wherever possible to improve efficiencies within the department and reduce Partner/Solicitor time
• Completing standard transactional documents such as mortgage deeds
• Undertaking all administration including photocopying, preparing ledger accounts, housekeeping and time records, paying disbursements, maintaining up to date diary records
• Undertaking any other ad-hoc tasks as delegated by the Partners and Solicitors
• Assisting in completing reports on legal documents for clients.
