Mechanical Engineer - Building Services

Our client, a dynamic main contractor with a strong reputation for delivering multi-disciplined building services across commercial sectors, with projects ranging from office spaces, and large residences to new builds.

Due to a large increase in work and company growth, they are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with a focus on installation to join their team. The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for working closely alongside the Project Managers to look after the Mechanical installations, ensuring they are executed to the highest standards.

Mechanical Engineer - Building Services

Responsibilities

  • Lead the installation of mechanical systems, ensuring that designs are implemented effectively and accurately on-site
  • Collaborate closely with project managers to monitor and oversee mechanical installations, ensuring projects meet deadlines, budgets, and quality standards
  • Manage multi-disciplinary projects focused on the mechanical side, including HVAC systems, plumbing, and other mechanical components
  • Supervise installation teams, ensuring all work complies with safety regulations and industry standards
  • Conduct site visits domestically and internationally to attend meetings, inspect project progress, and ensure successful implementation of mechanical installations
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure smooth communication and project execution

Mechanical Engineer - Building Services

Requirements

  • Proven experience in mechanical engineering with a focus on installation, particularly within building services or mechanical contracting
  • Strong background in managing full mechanical building services packages, from HVAC systems to plumbing and beyond
  • Ability to translate mechanical designs into effective installations on-site
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work closely with project managers and other stakeholders
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required for project meetings and site visits
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools for project management and engineering (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar)
  • Thorough knowledge of industry standards, codes, and safety regulations related to mechanical installations
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans
