The School:

The school is based in Crowborough and provides support for primary, secondary and sixth form age pupils who have a range of profound and multiple learning disabilities, severe learning disabilities, moderate learning disabilities, and diagnosis of autism. All pupils who attend the school have a designated Education Heath Care Plan (EHCP), which details their specific needs in terms of care and support they will have access to.

The school provides a unique and specialist environment that meets the needs and challenges that the students face. The school offers a highly specialised curriculum, which aims to help all students reach their full potential.

Students' needs include profound and multiple learning disabilities, severe learning disabilities, moderate learning disabilities, and diagnosis of autism.

It is an exciting time to join the school, with a change in leadership planned for January 2025 which promises new direction and vision.

*** Specialist SEN Primary, Secondary and Sixth Form school for students with a range of profound and multiple learning disabilities, severe learning disabilities, moderate learning disabilities, and diagnosis of autism

*** Class sizes of approximately 6-8 children

*** Specialist therapy rooms and designated areas for specialist support

*** Specialist communication methods such as Makaton and PECS

Requirements for the SEN Teaching Assistant role:

*** Enhanced DBS, which we can help you obtain if you do not already possess

*** Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with children (essential)

*** Strong teamwork and communication skills

*** Flexibility and creativity to adapting to student needs

*** Experience with special educational needs (desirable, not essential)

Contract- day-to-day, short-term, long-term, and permanent roles available
