Term Time Teachers are working with special educational needs schools based in Crowborough who require a special needs teaching assistant. Your role as a special needs teaching assistant will include supporting children with special educational needs, particularly those with Autism, complex learning needs, profound and multiple learning difficulties, severe and moderate learning difficulties.
As a special needs teaching Assistant, you will be required to assist children with their learning and development. You'll help to provide a positive and inclusive learning environment where students can develop their confidence and academic skills.
As a special needs teaching assistant, you will assist a range of students of primary and secondary ages with a variety of individual needs and promote a positive attitude whilst also being able to manage challenging behaviour.
Your key responsibilities as a Special Needs Teaching Assistant include:
- Patience and understanding towards children's diverse needs.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with students and staff.
- Assist students with SEN and additional needs.
- Encourage participation of all pupils in learning and extracurricular activities.
- Ensure the classroom and equipment are kept in a safe and tidy condition.
- Be able to remain calm and composed if presented with challenging behaviour.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of pupils
- Demonstrate a positive attitude.

Requirements:
- Have previous experience either on a personal or professional level
- Have an enhanced DBS certificate on the update service or be happy to apply.
- Hold the Right to Work in the UK.
- Be able to provide two references within the last 2 years.
- Relevant qualifications in education are advantageous but not essential
