Audit & Accounts Senior – Croydon

TPF Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of our client, a fast-growing accountancy firm in the UK.

Our client, a leading accountancy practice, is looking for a full-time Audit & Accounts Senior to join their growing team in Croydon. This is a great opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, where the role is split approximately 70/30 between audit and non-audit assignments. The firm provides bespoke support and advice to ambitious business owners, and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with both corporate and not-for-profit clients, gaining exposure to consultancy and advisory services as well.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working as part of a team on larger audits for both corporate and not-for-profit clients
  • Handling client queries and supervising the work of junior colleagues
  • Overseeing smaller audits and reporting directly to partners
  • Preparing financial statements for audit and non-audit clients
Requirements

Skills & Experience Required:

  • ACA/ACCA Qualified or Part-Qualified
  • A minimum of 3 years' audit experience in an accountancy practice
  • Up to date with current auditing and accounting issues, as well as relevant standards, company law, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of tax, particularly corporation tax, with awareness of VAT and payroll taxes being advantageous
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to think critically to solve problems
  • Ability to take ownership of issues from start to finish and show initiative
  • Experience working on a diverse range of clients (FCA experience is beneficial)
  • Strong computer skills, especially Excel; experience with CCH and Pro-audit is advantageous
  • Knowledge of Mercia audit methodology is also beneficial
