The Project Support Officer enables the smooth running of the project by supporting the project manager through the operation of project management processes, and the co-ordination of business management actions and activities on their behalf. The post holder(s) undertake a key role in the Operational Communications in Policing (OCiP) team within the Emergency Services Mobile Communications Programme (ESMCP). OCiP is a small team of police officers and staff who work on behalf of policing nationally to try to exploit the potential of developments in technology so that the best possible policing service to the public is provided. The post holder(s) will receive their day-to-day tasking from the OCiP ESN management team; the Business Change Office Lead, Chief of Staff to the National Police ESN Coordinator (NPEC) and, where appropriate, direct tasking from the NPEC. Responsibilities: Support implementation of a documentation approval process enabling Police governance to review and contribute to ESMCP decision making. Drive action to resolve outstanding queries and information requests; maintaining and driving the process to ensure progress is recorded and can be assured. Support SEO Risk Lead to identify, monitor, and report on risks and issues. Support the coordination and management of lessons learned between the OCiP Team, Police Service and ESMCP. Support the delivery of key reports to the NPEC; provide analysis on the reporting received by individual Police Forces and present relevant and timely management information to enable the NPEC to drive ESN implementation. Support creation and production of documents for external governance reviews e.g. PAC hearings.  Support effective police governance and decision making to Chief Officer level including the development of Board papers and other secretariat functions e.g. drafting minutes, decision and action logs. Support multiple projects, providing project support to Thematic Leads as necessary. Act as a communication hub between OCiP, Police Forces, and ESMCP. Introduce and administer the use of templates within OCiP. Support the management of OCiP resourcing requirements, to ensure the OCiP ESN team is fully resourced. Seek appropriate support, guidance and coaching from within ESMCP. Show commitment to personal development. Promote effective individual and team performance. Provide a conduit, audit trail and repository between OCiP, the wider Police Service, other emergency services and stakeholders, and ESMCP.
