Job Description:
As a Gas Service Field Operations Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out regular servicing, maintenance, and safety checks on gas heating systems, appliances, and related infrastructure in social housing properties. Your role will ensure that tenants continue to have access to safe and reliable gas systems, while also contributing to their overall satisfaction and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform servicing and maintenance of gas appliances and heating systems, ensuring compliance with gas safety regulations and company standards.
- Conduct annual gas safety checks in line with legal requirements, identifying potential issues and carrying out necessary repairs or adjustments.
- Provide expert advice to tenants regarding the safe use of gas appliances and their heating systems.
- Respond to scheduled and reactive service requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain accurate service records and ensure all work is documented according to company procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure all work is carried out to the highest safety standards and within agreed timeframes.
- Work with the housing management team to ensure tenant satisfaction and to address any concerns or queries related to gas services.
- Participate in emergency call-out rotations, ensuring responsive support for urgent gas-related issues.
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, gas safety regulations, and new technologies.
Skills & Experience:
- Valid Gas Safe Certification (essential).
- Proven experience in gas servicing, maintenance, and safety checks, particularly in residential or social housing settings.
- Strong knowledge of gas safety regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a field-based role.
- Good communication and customer service skills, with a positive attitude when interacting with tenants.
- A full UK driving license is essential.
- Experience in social housing or the public sector is desirable.
