We are seeking an immediately available Bookkeeper to join a fairly new firm on an initial contract basis. This role offers the unique opportunity to act as the finance adviser to the Managing Director, with responsibilities including setting up the finance function and managing payroll operations, including HMRC returns.  

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Establish and manage the finance function for the firm.
  • Act as the primary financial adviser to the Managing Director, providing strategic financial guidance.
  • Responsible for setting up and running the payroll system.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and submissions of HMRC returns.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective financial management within the company.
  • Manage bookkeeping records, prepare financial statements, and produce budget according to schedule.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of business and financial accounting principles and practices.
  • Experience in managing payroll and completing HMRC returns.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office.
