We are seeking a dedicated Nutrition & Dietetic Assistant for a temporary, full-time role lasting 7 months. You will join our Nutrition and Dietetics team to help deliver a high-quality Nutrition and Dietetic Service to patients, working closely with dietitians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to patient care and develop skills in nutrition and healthcare.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Dietetic and Catering teams to support patient dietary needs, including therapeutic diets.
  • Manage stock and distribution of dietetic supplies, coordinating with material management and procurement teams.
  • Provide training to nursing staff on nutritional screening, basic nutrition, and therapeutic diet options.
  • Conduct patient education sessions on nutrition (after reaching competency), focusing on chronic disease management and weight reduction.
  • Support the dietetic team in administrative duties, such as filing, booking meetings, and managing dietary resources.
  • Maintain a small caseload, under supervision, to assess and manage basic nutritional support for patients.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a healthcare or nutrition support role is desirable.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for managing dietary supplies and stock.
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with healthcare professionals and providing patient education.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
