Senior Electrical Design Engineer- Croydon

We are assisting a leading consultancy specialising in optimised mechanical, electrical, and public health engineering, with a focus on precision and energy efficiency. Due to continued growth the organisation is in need of an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to work onsite in Croydon. As Senior Electrical Design Engineer you will be responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing the development of electrical systems for various projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements:

  • Lead the design, development, and specification of electrical systems including detailed electrical designs, calculations, and system schematics, ensuring compliance with local codes, regulations, and project requirements.

  • Collaborate electrical design with other engineering disciplines and project stakeholders to ensure seamless integration within the overall project and produce energy efficient, reliable, and safe electrical systems.

  • Assist the preparation of project proposals and participate in design reviews, value engineering, and troubleshooting sessions.

  • Perform complex technical analyses to optimise electrical systems and identify potential issues early in the design process.

  • Perform feasibility studies and electrical load calculations, ensuring appropriate sizing of systems & resolve any design challenges to ensure performance and compliance.

  • Ensure all electrical designs comply with relevant codes and standards as well as quality, safety, environmental, and client-specific requirements.

  • Participate in site visits to verify installation compliance with design and conduct inspections for quality assurance and system performance.

  • Serve as the main point of contact for electrical design aspects, collaborating with clients, architects, and project teams to address project needs and expectations.

  • Prepare and manage relevant reports, drawings, and documentation ready for review or submission to senior management.

  • Degree/qualifications in Electrical Engineering.

  • Significant years of experience in electrical design engineering, ideally within the Healthcare, Leisure, or Education projects.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant electrical design software and tools.

  • In-depth understanding of electrical systems, power distribution, lighting, and energy management principles.

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail and ability to work independently or within a team.
