Mechanical Assembler

Salary: up to 28K/ annum
Mechanical Assembler required in Croydon area to work in a big company manufacturing high-tech solutions for different applications including Aerospace, Nuclear, Oil and Gas and so on. We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented individual with strong experience in precision mechanical assembly and fitting, including brazing, as well as working with hazardous materials. Previous experience as an apprentice toolmaker or toolmaker will be highly regarded. You will be expected to interpret engineering drawings and follow mechanical assembly procedures while working to tight tolerances. The ideal candidate is a problem solver, a proactive team player, and able to take initiative in meeting production demands.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manufacture assemblies and sub-assemblies according to company and client specifications and documentation.
- Actively contribute to meeting order demand and production targets.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of Lean manufacturing processes.
- Ensure that all documentation is complete, accurate, and presentable for client review.
- Support both on-site and off-site manufacturing and testing in alignment with production schedules.
- Assist with client surveillance visits and quality assurance checks.
Experience required:
- Previous similar experience in Mechanical assembly around 1 year.
- Very good attention to work on tight tolerances
- Able to understand and interpret technical drawings
- Good skills in brazing and manipulating hazardous substances will be an advantage.
