Our client is seeking a Repairs Surveyor to assist the Senior Repairs Surveyor in delivering maintenance services for the South London, Kent and Sussex region. This role involves managing responsive, cyclical, and major repairs for both occupied and vacant properties. Key responsibilities include diagnosing maintenance needs, ensuring work is completed to a high standard with full health and safety compliance, and escalating any contractor performance issues as needed.

Description

Key responsibilities:

  • Support Senior Repairs Surveyor in delivering responsive, cyclical, and major repairs for tenanted and void properties.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities meet Health & Safety standards.
  • Diagnose maintenance needs and ensure quality of contractor work.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and CDM regulations.
  • Verify contractor value for money and manage outstanding works.
  • Conduct site inspections, update systems, and inspect completed repairs.
  • Handle customer complaints and feedback, ensuring quality service.
  • Undertake stock validation surveys and attend relevant meetings.






Profile

The successful candidate:

  1. Strong understanding of building and health and safety legislation.
  2. Knowledge of common procurement routes for maintenance works.
  3. Understanding of both traditional and modern construction methods in housing.
  4. Familiarity with building contracts commonly used in maintenance.
  5. Ability to draft tender documents.
  6. Ability to create basic construction drawings and draft specifications.

Education:

  • HNC in Construction or Building.

Experience:

  • 5+ years in property maintenance, preferably in housing, with experience in property inspections, diagnosing defects, and supervising contractors/consultants.
