My client is a family ran business with over 30 years’ experience within Forklift Truck Services. Specialising in the hire, sales and repairs of forklifts across the Southeast, Surrey, Kent and London area. Working closely with several manufacturers including Combi & Flexi. They are a main line dealer of industry known Caterpillar. My client is looking for a Trainee FLT Engineer to join their team and progress within the business long term. This is an opportunity for a mechanically minded individual who is looking to forge a career within the Material Handling sector.

Trainee FLT Engineer  
(Head Office is in Croydon)
Salary – Basic up to £20,000 - £22,000 per annum, company pension, industry specific training, company pension, annual attendance bonus, regular pay reviews based on progression and 22 days holiday plus Bank Holidays.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Gaining on the job experience.
  • Shadowing engineers (mentors).
  • Working within the workshop repairing, servicing FLTs.
  • Undertake internal/external training with an open mind.

To apply you MUST have or hold:

  • A keen interest in engineering including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic.
  • GCSEs at C or above (Grade 4) in English, Maths and Science is desirable.
  • Basic knowledge of HSE.
  • Willingness to learn and develop.
  • Basic IT skills – emails, Microsoft office.
  • Good communication skills verbally and written.
  • Be able to follow instructions.
