Timeplan Education is actively seeking dedicated Behaviour Mentors to support students in an alternative provision setting in Croydon. Our school is looking for individuals experienced in coaching, mentoring, and assisting in a classroom environment. Ideal candidates will have experience working with SEMH, complex behaviour needs, and trauma support, and should be comfortable with managing challenging behaviour in a compassionate and constructive manner.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support for children and young adults with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Utilizing strategies to de-escalate challenging behaviour and maintain a calm, safe environment
  • Supporting students who have experienced trauma, helping them build resilience and coping mechanisms
  • Collaborating with teaching staff to create individualized behavioural plans that cater to each student's unique needs
  • Developing positive, trusting relationships with students to foster a supportive and nurturing environment
  • Monitoring and tracking behavioural progress to inform the development of targeted interventions
  • Ensuring compliance with safeguarding procedures and maintaining accurate records on student wellbeing and behaviour.
