Position Overview:

Are you an experienced Estimator with a passion for bespoke joinery? We are seeking a skilled Joinery Estimator to join their expanding team in Croydon. If you have a proven track record in estimating and a keen eye for detail, we’d love to hear from you!

Job Role:

As a Joinery Estimator, you will be responsible for reviewing project plans, preparing detailed cost estimates, and ensuring that all costs are accounted for in line with project requirements. You will work closely with project managers, designers, architects, clients, and suppliers to deliver accurate pricing proposals for bespoke joinery projects.

  • Review Project Plans and Specifications: Thoroughly assess drawings and specifications to understand joinery requirements and scope.
  • Prepare Detailed Estimates: Create comprehensive materials & hardwares orders and cost estimates.
  • Quote Management & Coordination: Effectively manage and prioritize multiple quotes simultaneously, ensuring timely responses and accurate follow-ups.
  • Track Project Changes: Monitor changes to project scope and provide cost implications or adjustments as needed.
  • Collaboration & Project Support: Work alongside team members, project managers, architects, and clients to clarify project specifications, support the project manager in taking on key responsibilities, and ensure all project requirements are met.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay up-to-date on industry trends, materials, and pricing to ensure the best solutions are provided for clients.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven Estimating Experience: Of at least 2 years’ experience as an estimator within the joinery or construction industry.
  • Knowledge of Joinery Processes: A strong understanding of joinery processes, materials, and industry standards is essential.
  • Strong Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with clients, suppliers and internal teams.
  • Independence & Teamwork: Capable of working independently while also collaborating effectively as part of a team.
  • Problem-Solving: Problem-solving skills with the ability to identify challenges and offer cost-effective solutions.
  • Design Understanding: Strong knowledge of design principles and detailing, as well as the implications on manufacture of different designs.
