About the Role
Prospero Teaching is recruiting for an experienced Deputy Headteacher to assist in the leadership and management of a Secondary Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in South Croydon. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the school while supporting the Headteacher and staff in delivering outstanding education to pupils with diverse needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the daily running of the school, ensuring that operational, safeguarding, and educational standards are met.
- Lead and manage a team of staff, including teachers and support staff, providing guidance and professional development.
- Develop and implement school policies, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
- Monitor and evaluate teaching and learning outcomes to support continuous improvement.
- Oversee pupil progress, behaviour, and wellbeing, ensuring personalised support for all students.
- Collaborate with parents, carers, and external agencies to maintain strong partnerships and effective communication.
- Support the Headteacher in strategic planning and decision-making to drive the school's vision and ethos.
- Lead assemblies, organise staff meetings, and oversee key areas of the curriculum or pastoral care.
Requirements:
- QTS
- Previous experience in a senior leadership role, preferably in an SEN or secondary school setting.
- A strong understanding of SEN education and strategies to support diverse needs.
- Exceptional organisational and communication skills.
- The ability to inspire and motivate staff and students alike.
- Proven experience in school improvement and leadership.
