Job Advert: Head of the Virtual School

Our client, an organisation in the education sector, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join their team as the Head of the Virtual School on a temporary basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact on the educational outcomes and long-term learning of Children Looked After and Care Experienced Young People.

Responsibilities:

Taking a lead role in casework where educational support is required, ensuring the best possible outcomes for individual pupils.Recognising, understanding, and addressing the needs of vulnerable pupils within the remit of the Virtual School in all areas of policy development.Managing the workload, development, and performance of the Virtual School staff.Acting as the key contact, providing advice and guidance to senior leaders within schools and colleges, as well as other educational providers, on Children Looked After, Care Experienced Young People, and out of Borough schools.

Requirements:

A first degree or equivalent and a recognised teaching qualification.Significant experience at a senior level in schools or a Local Authority.Proven track record of successfully managing interventions within multi-agency settings.Experience of successful budget and/or programme management.Experience of working effectively in a multi-agency environment to improve outcomes for children and young people.Experience of managing staff successfully, including performance management.

Skills and Abilities:

Ability to work co-operatively and effectively within a team context.Ability to motivate and develop teams and individuals.Project management skills.Commitment to workforce development and personal professional development for the purposes of service improvement.Competence in the use and applications of IT in the workplace.

The successful candidate will have a comprehensive knowledge of legislation and national guidance relating to the education and care of Children Looked After and Care Experienced Young People. They will also possess the ability to develop and lead partnerships, manage change, and improve services for these individuals.

Our client offers a daily rate starting from £400 for a 6-month contract. Driving is not required for this position, and the working pattern is full-time.
