Health & Safety Compliance Consultant

Location: London - Croydon

Contract Type: Temporary (6 months)

Rate: £350 per day - Umbrella (Inside IR35)

Our client, a well-established organisation, is seeking a Health & Safety Compliance Consultant to join their team on a temporary basis. This is an interim role initially for 6 months, with the possibility of extension for a further 6 months. The successful candidate will play a vital role in the effective management of all aspects of Health and Safety, Fire Safety, CDM, and Transport Safety matters.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of an organisational culture that prioritises the health, safety, and fire safety of all employees, clients, and the public.
  • Provide a fully integrated health, safety, and fire safety service, with a focus on education and embedding a safety culture.
  • Manage an advisory service to departments on H&S issues and risk assessments, in alignment with the organisation's obligations and corporate policy.
  • Monitor compliance with all H&S legislation, policies, and practises, reporting any exceptions to the H&S Compliance Manager.
  • Work to minimise operational losses, occupational health problems, accidents, and injuries.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of health, safety, and welfare at work and communicate relevant changes to stakeholders.
  • Liaise with suppliers for the procurement of health and safety resources.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a regulatory environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of H&S legislation and regulations.
  • Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Professional certification in Health & Safety (NEBOSH or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
