Graduate Teaching Assistant | Location: Croydon, CR7 | Hours: Full-time, Term-time | Payrate: 95-105 | Starting Date: ASAP

We are currently recruiting for teaching assistant positions for all graduates who are looking to gain some valuable experience in a school environment before applying to complete teacher training.

You will get the experience you need to launch your career in education in this role, where you will learn how to operate in a classroom and in a school. You will take on the role of an inspirational leader, collaborating with educators and the larger school community to create a safe and loving learning environment for students to excel.

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will be:

  • To support pupils with varying learning needs and prior attainment levels in a variety of settings (whole class, small group, one-to-one)
  • To maintain and actively boost high academic and behavioural expectations.
  • To mentor and coach pupils in the development of their self-confidence and aspirations for their future
  • To work cooperatively with all staff members to support every pupil to succeed.
  • To support and lead learning activities, developing the ability to teach whole classes in future.

Requirements:

  • Hold an undergraduate degree, preferably grade 2:2 or above.
  • To trial all candidates will require a minimum of two references and an Enhanced DBS Certificate.
  • Committed personality and approach to working with young people.
  • Ability to remain positive and calm during difficult challenges/situations.
  • Experience working in a primary environment is desired, but not necessary.
