Location: Croydon
Salary: £90 to £110 per day (dependent on experience)

GSL Education is seeking a committed SEMH Teaching Assistant to support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs at a special school in Croydon. The role is ideal for individuals with experience in working within an SEMH setting, who are dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of students with special needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs.
  • Assist teachers in managing classroom behaviour and promoting a positive learning environment.
  • Help students develop their social and emotional skills, enabling them to thrive academically and personally.
  • Support the implementation of individual education and behaviour plans (IEPs and IBPs).
  • Build trusting and supportive relationships with students to encourage their progress.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs is preferable.
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
  • A patient and compassionate approach to supporting students with complex emotional and behavioural needs.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
