About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and enthusiastic Secondary Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant secondary school in the heart of Croydon. We are seeking a compassionate, proactive individual who is passionate about supporting young people's educational journeys.
Key Responsibilities:
- Student Support: Assist students, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN), providing tailored support in both one-to-one and small group settings.
- Classroom Support: Work closely with teachers to ensure lessons are engaging, inclusive, and effective, supporting the overall classroom dynamic as a Teaching Assistant.
- Behavioural and Pastoral Care: Help foster a positive atmosphere, guiding students on both academic and personal levels to enhance their overall school experience.
- Learning Resources: Prepare and organize resources to support lessons and ensure students are equipped to engage fully in their education.
- Extracurricular Activities: Participate in school clubs, events, and other programs to enrich student life in Croydon schools.
Requirements:
- Prior experience working with young people, preferably in an educational setting (experience supporting SEN students is advantageous).
- A genuine interest in education and the ability to connect with young people.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, essential for a successful Teaching Assistant.
- Patience, adaptability, and a positive attitude to challenges within a school environment.
- A degree or similar would be beneficial.
