The role:

As an Account Handler you will be working within a specialist and exciting division, servicing existing clients whilst being commercially aware of any new business opportunities.

More detail:

  • Deal with incoming enquiries from clients, insurers and other third parties in a professional and timely manner.
  • Work within agreed authority levels.
  • Review the demands and needs of customers and advise on the most appropriate insurances to meet their demands and needs.
  • Increase client base wherever possible.
  • Convert insurance needs to sales.
  • Lead and process client new business, renewals, midterm adjustments and lapses in accordance with current procedures and FCA requirements.
  • Input accurate data onto the back-office systems.
  • Liaise with Insurers and other third parties regarding the administration of client's insurance needs.
  • Assess, assimilate, analyse and present to insurers and underwriters to achieve risk acceptance at the most advantageous rate.
  • Prepare customer reports on both new and existing risks to support the commercial lines manager/supervisor.
  • Take ownership for actioning and updating Diary System as advised and within defined time scale.

The Person:

Due to the nature of the role dealing with existing clients, previous commercial insurance experience is essential for this role.

  • Commercial insurance experience ideally in respect of schemes business.
  • Ability to build successful, mutually helpful business/client relationships.
  • Understanding of broking and underwriting process.
  • Highly organised, with good planning skills.
  • Able to work flexibly to achieve tight deadlines/targets.
  • Completion of / progress towards CII.

Basic salary for this role will be £35000 plus company bonus and comprehensive benefits.
