Location: Croydon (Hybrid: Office-based Tues, Wed, Thurs; Remote on Mon & Fri)Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 + Quarterly Bonus (up to £5,000 per year), negotiable depending on experience
The Company:A well-established insurance provider specializing in the care sector, offering comprehensive coverage for care homes, children's nurseries, and domiciliary services. They have a strong reputation within the wholesale care market and provide tailored solutions to complex, high-value risks.
The Role:As a Development Underwriter, you will be responsible for underwriting complex care sector risks, including care homes, children's nurseries, and domiciliary care. You will manage the entire process from quoting to processing, develop strong broker relationships, and actively participate in business development. The role offers an opportunity to grow within the business, with potential for progression to a Business Development Manager (BDM) role.
The Required Skills:- Experience: 2-3 years in underwriting, preferably within the care sector or dealing with complex risks.
- Self-Motivation: Ability to work autonomously and manage a portfolio of brokers.
- Relationship Building: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to develop long-term broker relationships.
- Attention to Detail: Experience in processing and underwriting complex insurance products.
- Business Development: Proactive in seeking new business opportunities and growing your broker network.
- Travel: Occasional travel to meet with brokers and clients.
