H9 Technical Recruitment are hiring for an Engineering & Maintenance Manager to work at our clients EfW plant in Croydon to be responsible for managing and coordinating the maintenance function, including a team of multi skilled technicians, ensuring maximum plant availability with minimal downtime.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Managing and directing a team of mechanical, electrical and C&I technicians to ensure minimum plant downtime and maximum availability
  • Planning and executing plant shutdowns/outages
  • Managing the departments maintenance budget
  • Oversee the management of the maintenance schedule
  • Develop and maintain records of plant maintenance including work orders, PPMs and planned and unplanned outages and inspections
  • Overseeing on site contractors
  • Deputising for the Plant Manager when required

Education and Experience:

  • HNC in a relevant engineering discipline, ideally mechanical
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance/engineering in a relevant heavy process industry, ideally power generation but industries such as chemical production, aggregate or similar
  • Practical understanding of boilers, steam generation, pressure parts and associated equipment
  • Experience with managing a team/department budget
  • Experience in a management or supervisory level role
  • IOSH or NEBOSH would be preferred but isn't essential
