We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Management Accountant to join our clients finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to develop their career in management accounting while gaining exposure to various aspects of financial management and reporting. As an Assistant Management Accountant, you will support the Financial Controller in delivering accurate financial information to support decision-making within the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including reconciliations and variance analysis.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing key financial insights.
- Prepare financial reports for senior management and stakeholders.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records and reports.
- Assist with internal and external audit preparation.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of financial processes and systems.
- Help with the preparation of year-end financial statements.
- Monitor and manage cash flow, including preparing cash forecasts.
- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis as required by senior management.
Requirements:
- AAT qualification or working towards ACCA/CIMA qualification (or equivalent).
- Previous experience in a management accounting or finance role is desirable.
- Strong understanding of financial accounting and management reporting.
- Excellent attention to detail with a strong analytical mindset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (experience with ERP system like Epicor or similar is a plus).
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
