Techniche Global are working with a world leader in cellular material technology to appoint a Deputy Production Manager. The business is seeking proven supervisory, team leading or management experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, strong leadership and communication skills, and knowledge of continuous improvement techniques. They are open to any product, industry, or manufacturing sector experience. The role will be working alongside an established Production Manager which has 5-6 direct reports and up to 50 indirect reports.

  Salary:                 £50-55k (including shift allowance)Location:              Croydon -onsiteDuration:             permanent, full time      Working pattern: Panama Shift pattern Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the production team within your area of responsibility, supporting and developing individuals within your team to maximise performance metrics and ensure that relevant training and development is maintained;
  • Manage labour and resources in conjunction with the production schedule, providing daily report on CQD, detailing exceptions and actions.
  • Support continuous improvement, problem solving and process improvement activities within manufacturing.
  • Work closely with all departments within Manufacturing to maximise performance.
  • Ensure all equipment and tooling is maintained to minimise waste and downtime; conducting daily, weekly, monthly, inspections and audits as required.
  • Identify and communicate areas for improvement.
  Qualifications/ Experience:
  • A relevant technical degree or suitable industry experience.
  • Some knowledge of continuous improvement techniques.
  • A clear understanding of OHSE requirements.
  • Demonstrable experience leading teams within a manufacturing environment or equivalent industry.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • A proactive approach teamed with sound problem solving skills.
  • A dynamic and pragmatic approach.
  • Good IT skills in Microsoft packages and bespoke manufacturing software
