We are assisting a leading consultancy specialising in optimised mechanical, electrical, and public health engineering, with a focus on precision and energy efficiency. Due to continued growth the organisation is in need of an experienced Associate Mechanical Director. As Associate Mechanical Director you will lead the mechanical engineering team, overseeing the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems for complex construction projects.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements:

  • Oversee mechanical engineering projects from concept through completion, ensuring they meet client expectations, budgets, and timelines.

  • Manage and lead the small mechanical engineering team and collaborate with clients, contractors, and relevant stakeholders to define project requirements.

  • Review and approve detailed designs, drawings, and specifications, maintaining quality and accuracy across projects.

  • Conduct technical reviews, audits, and site inspections, ensuring systems are installed according to design specifications and perform as intended.

  • Oversee the testing, commissioning, and handover processes, ensuring a smooth transition from construction to operational phases.

  • Implement quality control processes for all mechanical designs, ensuring adherence to local and international codes, standards, and best practices.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding mechanical engineering aspects of projects, providing updates, addressing concerns, and offering expert advice.

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

  • Significant years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing Healthcare, Leisure, or Education projects.

  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on collaboration and client engagement.
