Senior Project Manager
Location: South London/Hybrid
Rate: 80.14 per hour (Umbrella)


We are seeking a highly skilledSenior Project Managerwith a background inMRICS Building Surveyingand extensivelocal authority experience, preferably withinHousing, to join a Local Authority in South London. This role offers the opportunity to leadmajor void works,decent homes programmes, and a range of other high-value, specialist projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Plan, manage, and direct construction teams on a variety ofspecial and ad hoc projects, ensuring successful delivery from initiation to completion.
  • Innovation & Research: Keep abreast ofnew construction trends, materials, techniques, and best practices to implement on projects.
  • Legislative Knowledge: Monitor and ensure compliance withchanges in legislation, regulations, andcodes of practice, and provide solutions to housing needs.
  • Strategic Leadership: Lead and managehigh-value projectsincludingenvironmental sustainability programmesand new initiatives stemming fromgovernment directives.
  • Team Management: Lead bothinternal and external teams, ensuring effective communication and project coordination.
  • Budget & Timeline Management: Oversee all projects ensuring they remain withinbudget and timescales, with quality standards andKey Performance Indicators (KPIs)fully met.

Essential Requirements:

  • MRICS Building Surveyor qualification.
  • Proven experience withinlocal authority housing projects, specifically onmajor void worksanddecent homes programmes.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage bothinternal and external teamseffectively.
  • Experience in leading and deliveringhigh-value, specialist construction projects, including environmental sustainability initiatives.
  • Strong understanding ofconstruction processes, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Excellentbudget and time managementskills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work withgovernment directives,policy development, andfunding bids.
