We are seeking a skilled Estimator join a great client of mine in the Croydon area. In this role, you will be pivotal in reviewing project plans, preparing detailed cost estimates, and ensuring comprehensive cost management in line with bespoke project requirements. You will collaborate with project managers, designers, architects, clients, and suppliers to deliver precise pricing proposals.
Day-to-day of the role:- Review Project Plans and Specifications: Thoroughly assess drawings and specifications to understand the requirements and scope.
- Prepare Detailed Estimates: Create comprehensive materials and hardware orders and cost estimates.
- Quote Management & Coordination: Manage and prioritise multiple quotes simultaneously, ensuring timely responses and accurate follow-ups.
- Track Project Changes: Monitor changes to project scope and provide cost implications or adjustments as needed.
- Collaboration & Project Support: Work alongside team members, project managers, architects, and clients to clarify project specifications and support project managers in key responsibilities.
- Proven Estimating Experience: At least 2 years’ experience as an estimator within the construction industry.
- Strong Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Independence & Teamwork: Capable of working independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Problem-Solving: Skills with the ability to identify challenges and offer cost-effective solutions.
- Design Understanding: Strong knowledge of design principles and detailing, and the implications on manufacture of different designs.
