Morgan Hunt are working with an Education organisation who are recruiting for a HR System Advisor on a contract basis starting ASAP. This role is paying from £20 - £22.50 per hour on a temporary basis for 3 months initially but with a chance of permanency. It is a really interesting role with a great mix of HR and systems and is hybrid, based in Croydon with flexible start and finish times.

Overall Purpose of the HR System Advisor:

  • To work part of a HR team to provide a professional, high-quality, and customer-focused HR service to allocated business areas, providing line management to a HR Officer and HR Assistant.
  • To support with the maintenance and development of the HR system, utilising support from the systems provider (MHR) where required. Producing Business Object reports from the system, as required.
  • To lead on the maintenance of the staff intranet, ensuring content is up to date, and provides relevant hub and communication channel for staff information.
  • To work closely with business areas to support their HR requirements providing HR data to enable proactive support, and providing monthly meetings with Heads of allocated areas to identify HR priority support. Managing HR processes relating to absence management, probation, performance improvement and disciplinary, and change management processes. Supporting with policy development, and other HR projects, as required.

Main Duties and Responsibilities of the HR System Advisor:

  • To meet regularly with allocated business areas to understand their HR priorities and providing HR initiatives and options to support their need To provide HR establishment reports and HR monitoring reports on, sickness, recruitment and turnover, etc. to proactively address HR related issues.
  • To support with the maintenance and development of the HR system, utilising support from the systems provider (MHR) where required. Producing Business Object reports from the system, as required.
  • To support HR casework at all stages of the process, coaching managers and staff through the relevant process and procedures, including disciplinary, sickness, probation, performance improvement and flexible/hybrid working requests.
  • To ensure the team are trained on the HR system (iTrent) and accurately input and update employee data in a timely way for payroll processing for allocated areas.
  • To apply an excellent working knowledge of HR and to coach and support Managers and other stakeholder on all aspects of HR best practice.

Experience & Knowledge of the HR System Advisor:

  • Experience of working in a HR role in an educational or similar setting.
  • Experience of working with business areas to provide a comprehensive HR service provision.
  • Experience of supporting HR casework processes.
  • Knowledge of processes required for supporting change management/restructure processes.
  • Experience of line management, or delegation of work and co- ordination of resources.
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office Applications ie Word, Excel, demonstrating accurate data input skills.
