A leading school seeks a Permanent Senior Finance Assistant to join their vibrant, forward-thinking team near Croydon, Surrey. Under the guidance of the Business Manager, you will be responsible for undertaking and providing effective and efficient administrative, financial and organisational processes within the school.

Requirements of the role:

  • To raise orders and commitments for stock and services
  • To process orders, invoices, credit notes, direct debits, debit card payments, and income
  • To check and follow up on all outstanding invoices and orders including unauthorised/unprinted orders/invoices and ensure all payments are raised
  • Process and reconcile petty cash
  • Processing and reconcile VAT returns
  • Raise payments (petty cash, direct debits, bank payments)
  • Be a (procurement) school charge card holder in line with the financial regulations
  • Administer, coordinate, and manage other income e.g. donations
  • Ensure records are kept in line with the school's retention policy

Desirable:

  • Experience in an educational setting
  • Previous experience of undertaking a broad scope of accounts and administrative duties
  • The school is committed to safeguarding children and expects all staff to share this commitment
