The English Teacher Vacancy

• A successful, small alternative provision PRU school in Croydon are looking for an English teacher for their KS3 campus
• The school cater to permanently excluded young people and provide short term intervention programs catered to each student who are struggling to learn in a mainstream environment
• Class sizes are extremely small and there is a wealth of resources and lessons provided
• Students have access to many activities both indoor and outdoor to promote independence, safety and re- engagement into a mainstream environment

The English Teacher Vacancy

• To start after the half term, the English teacher will have strong knowledge of the UK national curriculum
• The English Teacher post is being on a temporary to permanent basis with the school open to applications from ECTs and experienced teachers from mainstream or special schools
• The classes are very small and there is a real focus on personalised learning and revision, to ensure that the students are prepared for when they are re-intergated into mainstream school.

The Ideal English Teacher Applicant:

• All Maths Teacher applicants must have QTS.
• Strong behaviour management
• Have a passion for teaching students who struggle with mainstream school
• Experience teaching within an alternative provisions environment or a secondary school environment
• A good understanding of the KS3 English curriculum
• The ability to prepare and teach effective lessons taking into account the individual needs of learners.
• A creative approach to lesson planning.
• A patient, calm and engaging classroom manner.
• Strong communication and team leadership skills.
• Registered DBS or be prepared to carry out a new DBS application.
