Textiles Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Secondary Textiles Teacher to join our team in Earlsfield. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of teaching textiles or design at KS3 and KS4 levels, with a strong passion for fostering creativity in students. A good relevant degree, PGCE or Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective textiles lessons to KS3 and KS4 students.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress.
  • Inspire students in creative design, textile skills, and innovative project work.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages artistic exploration.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and share best practices in the subject area.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school events.

Requirements:

  • Have a good relevant first degree and be QTS qualified by the start date
  • Have the subject knowledge and experience to teach Design Technology at KS3, DT Textiles GCSE
    and Fashion and Textiles GCSE and A-Level (Art and Design Specification)
  • Be able to motivate and inspire students to love Design Technology and Art
  • Be committed to working successfully as a member of a team
  • Have very strong organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Experience teaching textiles or design at KS3 and KS4 levels.
  • PGCE or Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive and challenging learning environment that enhances students' design and creativity skills.
