About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and qualified Female PE Teacher to join our team for a full-time, maternity cover position at our secondary school in Croydon. The successful candidate will teach physical education to students across the 11-18 age range, contributing to both curriculum delivery and extra-curricular sports activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality PE lessons to students in Key Stage 3, 4, and 5 (ages 11-18) across a range of activities and sports.
- Develop and implement innovative and engaging lesson plans, ensuring students' physical, social, and emotional development.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and supporting individual learning needs.
- Participate in extra-curricular sports activities, including coaching and organizing school sports teams.
- Maintain high standards of behavior management and classroom discipline.
- Collaborate with colleagues within the department and across the school to develop cross-curricular initiatives.
- Attend staff meetings, parent evenings, and other school events as required.
Essential Requirements:
- Qualified PE Teacher with a degree in Physical Education or a related subject (QTS or equivalent preferred).
- Experience teaching physical education at secondary school level (ages 11-18).
- Strong understanding of the national curriculum for PE and current best practices in teaching physical education.
- Ability to teach a range of sports and physical activities.
- Passionate about promoting physical activity and fostering a positive attitude towards fitness and well-being in young people.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Ability to engage students and create a positive learning environment.
