The Role: As a History Teacher at our Croydon-based school, you will:

  • Teach History: Deliver engaging and dynamic lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching A-Level, inspiring students with innovative teaching methods.
  • Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development of the History curriculum, ensuring it remains captivating, relevant, and challenging.
  • Student Engagement: Encourage students to explore historical events, understand their significance, and develop critical thinking skills.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Humanities department and other colleagues to share best practices and promote continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons that meet the diverse needs of our students.
  • Assess and track student progress, providing feedback to help them achieve their academic goals.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and professional development activities.
  • Support extracurricular activities and events that enrich the History curriculum.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in History or a related field or previous experience as a History Teacher
  • A passion for teaching and a commitment to fostering a love of learning in students.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
