Learning Support Assistant Job Description:

A mainstream primary school in South Croydon is seeking a dedicated and compassionate full-time Learning Support Assistant to support children with special educational needs (SEN) in Key Stage 1. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact on young learners' lives, helping them thrive in an inclusive and supportive environment.

Learning Support Assistant Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 or small group support for SEN pupils in Key Stage 1.
• Work collaboratively with class teachers and the SENCO to implement individual education plans (IEPs).
• Assist in adapting classroom activities and resources to meet the diverse needs of pupils.
• Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages social and academic development.
• Support children with both learning and emotional needs, ensuring a safe and encouraging space for them to succeed.

Learning Support Assistant Requirements:

• Previous experience working with SEN children is essential.
• Ability to communicate effectively with children, staff, and parents.
• A calm, patient, and nurturing approach to support children's development.
• Passion for helping children with special educational needs reach their full potential.
