Learning Support Assistant Job Description:
A mainstream primary school in Croydon is seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis. The role focuses on supporting children in Key Stage 1, particularly those with Autism.
Learning Support Assistant Responsibilities:
* Provide tailored support to pupils with Autism in Key Stage 1.
* Assist in implementing individual learning plans and behaviour strategies.
* Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt lessons and materials.
* Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
* Support pupils in their social, emotional, and academic development.
* Maintain consistent communication with parents and other professionals involved in the child's education.
Learning Support Assistant Requirements:
* Previous experience working with children with Autism or other Special Educational Needs (SEN).
* Strong understanding of Key Stage 1 curriculum.
* Ability to work as part of a team and follow directions from teachers and SENCO.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* A proactive and patient approach to supporting children with additional needs.
