Learning Support Assistant Job Description:

A mainstream primary school in Croydon is seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis. The role focuses on supporting children in Key Stage 1, particularly those with Autism.

Learning Support Assistant Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored support to pupils with Autism in Key Stage 1.
• Assist in implementing individual learning plans and behaviour strategies.
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt lessons and materials.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
• Support pupils in their social, emotional, and academic development.
• Maintain consistent communication with parents and other professionals involved in the child's education.

Learning Support Assistant Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children with Autism or other Special Educational Needs (SEN).
• Strong understanding of Key Stage 1 curriculum.
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow directions from teachers and SENCO.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• A proactive and patient approach to supporting children with additional needs.
